Parade of Pigs Sponsors Sought!
The Third Annual Parade of Pigs event is just around the corner and sponsors are being sought! Parade of Pigs is a fundraising event aimed to help enrich the creativity and innovative potential of our students. It works like this: Specially painted ceramic piggy banks will first be unveiled at the District's Celebration of the Visual Arts show at 1 p.m., March 9 at GIS. They will then reside at sponsoring businesses, and in all our schools, to collect money until May 19. On Friday, May 30 the banks themselves will be auctioned at a cookout on the patio at Island Bay Yacht Club. Monies raised will help fund each school's Fine Arts Department. About the Ball-Chatham Educational Foundation
Educational “extras” make a critical difference between a very good school district and a great one. Ball-Chatham Community Unit School District #5 is a great school system with solid funding mechanisms. Because of this, our schools don’t qualify for program funding that covers the many extras our students need. Thus the formation of the Ball-Chatham Educational Foundation (BCEF) in 2001.
The BCEF is a separate entity from the school district. It is a non-profit, autonomous, tax-exempt, 501 (C) 3 organization directed by a board of trustees. Contributions can only be used within the Ball-Chatham School District. The trustees are committed to raising and distributing funds for the educational extras that makes our school system great. Our Mission
The mission of the Ball-Chatham Educational Foundation is to raise and distribute funds for opportunities that enrich the educational experience and enhance the development, creativity and innovative potential of our students and staff.
